"PBA’s 10th Anniversary World Series of Bowling
​Returns to Its Detroit Roots in March 2019"

The Professional Bowlers Association’s 10th anniversary World Series of Bowling will return to its roots at historic Thunderbowl Lanes in suburban Detroit, and will include a unique television package with the PBA’s new broadcast partner, FOX Sports, PBA CEO and Commissioner Tom Clark announced today.

WSOB X, a multi-event tournament series, will be held March 11-21 as part of the 2019 Go Bowling! PBA Tour at the same site that hosted the inaugural World Series in 2009.

"Junior Gold Bowling Championships Coming to Metro Detroit in 2019"

Detroit has been selected to host the 2019 Junior Gold Championships, USA Bowling National Championships, and Bowling.com Youth Open, where top youth bowlers from across the country will compete for scholarships and spots on Junior Team USA in six divisions. Athletes can qualify for the event through Junior Gold leagues and tournaments.

"We're excited to have Detroit play host once again to our youth events," says Gary Brown, IBC managing director of youth development. "These tournaments bring together the best youth bowlers in the nation and we appreciate the support of the leaders in these communities as we continue to build a future for the sport."

"Detroit Awarded Seven NCAA Championship Events"

The NCAA has awarded seven future NCAA championship events to Detroit, including the 2020 Division I Men's Ice Hockey Frozen Four, 2021 Division I Men's Basketball First and Second Rounds, and the 2022 Division I Men's College Wrestling Championships.

"Thunderbowl Lanes Awarded the 84th Postal-Federal Employees National Bowling Tournament "

The association, P.F.E.N.B.A., was formed to promote and run a national bowling tournament for Postal & Federal employees, members of the armed forces and retirees from the postal service, federal sector and the military.

This handicap tournament is open to any team consisting of five women or five men and having at least three current or retired postal, federal employee, active or retired member of the armed forces, or tournament five year member in any combination.

​Dates: April 23 - June 13, 2021

​*Over 3,500 bowlers will compete during this time frame
